

Dr Jennifer Barnes Julie Wilson
Barnes/Wilson workshops is an initiative by two Newcastle singing teachers, Dr Jennifer Barnes and Julie Wilson.
Jennifer and Julie are professional performers who have benefitted from their personal studies of voice and wish to encourage other teachers, singers and vocal students to access great master teachers, researchers and performance coaches.
Jennifer Barnes began public performance on television in the mid-1960s as a resident performer on a weekly young talent show. Her styles cover jazz, contemporary music theatre and peaked with her work as a principal soprano for Opera Australia, 1997 to 2003.
Julie Wilson is a celebrated jazz and contemporary singer with a successful private teaching studio. Julie has featured as a solo performer and band vocalist at Newcastle Jazz Festival, Norfolk Island Jazz Festival. 'Girls on the Radio' has been a popular feature at Lizotte's theatre restaurant featuring Julie on a number of occasions, contemporary pop band Heartfelt Rodneys.
